On Friday, the office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller stated that a grand jury indicted 13 Russian citizens, as well as 3 Russian entities, charged with “supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J. Trump … and disparaging Hillary Clinton.”
According to Cristina Lail of The Gateway Pundit, Mueller’s indictment uncovers a Russian campaign of internet trolls critical of Hillary Clinton while giving support for Trump and Bernie Sanders.
Lail also pointed out that on page 17 of Mueller’s indictment, it is disclosed that the Russians not only derided Hillary Clinton, but they also disparaged other candidates like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
Mueller’s indictment also showed that the Russians supported Bernie Sanders.
“Specialists were instructed to post content that focused on “politics in the USA” and to “use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest.”
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had a press conference on Friday to respond to questions about Mueller’s indictment.
Rosenstein acknowledged that not a single American knew they were cooperating with Russians who were masquerading as Americans.
Additionally, Rosenstein stated that the Russian campaign did not influence the results of the 2016 Presidential election.
