Posted by JROE LIGHTFOOT on January 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM

George Soros utilized the attention of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday to press political leaders and important organizations from all parts of the world to take seriously the threats caused by Facebook and Google, which he said could eventually produce “a web of totalitarian control” if they are not regulated and controlled.

According to Zero Hedge, the magnate investor warned that such “unholy marriages”may give rise to a form of authoritarianism “the likes of which not even Aldous Huxley or George Orwell could have imagined.” Soros further stated that “But the fact that they are near-monopoly distributors makes them public utilities and should subject them to more stringent regulations, aimed at preserving competition, innovation, and fair and open universal access.”
